THE DOCTOR OF THE FUTURE WILL NO LONGER TREAT THE HUMAN FRAME WITH DRUGS, BUT RATHER WILL CURE AND PREVENT DISEASE WITH NUTRITION.

Casey Bowen, ND

Casey Bowen is a registered Naturopathic Doctor in Colorado. She completed a four-year intensive medical program at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She received her BS in Biology from Colorado College in Colorado Springs. In addition to seeing patients at RFWC, Dr. Bowen is an adjunct instructor at Colorado Mountain College.

Prior to pursuing a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, she worked as a Medical Assistant in a general surgery office, a Student Athletic Trainer at CC's Sports Medicine Facility, an On-Call Medical Responder at a local boarding school, performed research in evolutionary physiology and spent a few years working on educational organic farms.

Dr. Casey was raised in the Colorado Rockies where she developed an immense appreciation for nature. With two parents in the medical field, she grew up knowing she wanted to be a doctor. She chose to become a Naturopathic Doctor because the philosophies of healing and health matched her own. When she isn't with patients, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, adventuring outdoors and gardening.

Naturopathic Training

Naturopathic Doctors undergo a rigorous, 4 to 5-year graduate medical education at one of the seven accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges in North America.

The first two years of education mirror an MD's training in terms of the biological sciences: Cadaver Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, Microbiology, Immunology, Pathology and Medical Diagnosis.

The latter years of the program involve clinical training, working hands-on with patients in a variety of clinical settings learning holistic and non-toxic therapies that focus on disease prevention and optimizing wellness. In addition to a standard medical curriculum (including pharmacology), ND students learn clinical nutrition, vitamin therapy (functional medicine), botanical medicine, homeopathy, counseling, psychology and physical/structural medicine.
